Bonnie Mbuli shares her skincare tips

Bonnie, like many South Africans, used to battle with uneven skin tone.
What are the causes of uneven skin tone/dark spots?
Dark spots are caused by an abnormal distribution of melanin in the upper layers of the skin. Melanin is what gives colour to our skins.
Dark spots can be widespread or localised.
UV rays from the sun, free radicals and hormones are the common causes of dark spots and uneven skin tone.
Exposure to the sun is a major factor in the worsening of the condition – which is why an effective broad-spectrum and effective sunscreen containing an SPF of at least 30-50 is essential on your journey to combatting dark spots.
Eau Thermale Avène, Europe’s No.1 dermo-cosmetic brand introduces a specialised range of products formulated to address uneven skin tone and dark spots. The D-Pigment range soothes the skin, helps reduce the appearance of existing dark marks and prevents new dark marks from forming thanks to powerful, ingredients with proven efficacy.
